MURMURATION

MURUMURATION is a film about grief, technology, and the uncanny. The story concerns a scruffy photographer who is couch-surfing at his eccentric, composer-uncle’s apartment. With a nod to both Cocteau’s "Orpheus" and Jarmusch’s "Stranger Than Paradise," the film offers a wry, deadpan depiction of our digitally intermediated lives while portraying the two characters’ attempts to bond over shared grief. It asks a number of questions, including, What is a murmuration? and, Can a film be one?
